Attorney Tom Haley is the founding member of the firm and has been practicing law since 1974. He has been selected as one of the top business lawyers in Dane County in surveys conducted by Madison Magazine, and is also a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is also a Board-Certified Civil Trial Advocate and has contributed significantly to the development of business law in Wisconsin.
Attorney Kevin Palmersheim has been practicing law since 1992 in the state of Wisconsin. Mr. Palmersheim has been recognized by peers as one of the top business lawyers in Dane County in surveys by Madison Magazine. He is a past president of the Dane County Bar Association and has served on its board of directors since 1997. He was also elected to serve on the Wisconsin State Bar's Board of Governors and appointed chair of several of its committees. In addition to his legal practice, he also serves on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations, including the Canopy Center, Work Opportunities in Rural Communities, and Family Centers.
Attorney Teresa Kobelt has practiced law since 1988 and previously worked for a highly regarded law firm in Milwaukee before joining Haley Palmersheim, S.C., in 1996. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, where she has served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee since 2004. Teresa has also served on the Board of Directors for the Dane County Bar Association since 2002, and is the DCBA President for its 2008-2009 term. She is also on the Middleton Municipal Court Peer Court Advisory Board, and a former member of the City of Middleton’s Commission on Youth. Teresa also advises several non-profit organizations, and serves on committees related to the Arts.
Attorney Cathleen Dettmann joined the firm in 2009. While in law school, Ms. Dettmann served on the Moot Court Board and as producer for the Stuart's Law Revue Society. She also provided legal assistance to individuals seeking to appeal criminal convictions through the law school's clinical programs. Prior to law school, Ms. Dettmann worked as a policy analyst and lobbyist for both the State Bar of Wisconsin and for a private lobbying firm in Madison. In her work for the State Bar, she represented the political interests of various practice groups and staffed several State Bar committees, including the Unauthorized Practice of Law Policy Committee, the Ethics 2000 Committee and the Trust Account Rule Working Group. As a private contract lobbyist, Ms. Dettmann worked primarily with law enforcement and health care advocacy groups.
